Curved Stairlift

Masonic Hall

The task was to get the best possible transfer height at the foot of the stairs and to over run the top landing so there would be ease of access.

At Masonic Hall we installed with the rail hugging the wall and sitting as low as possible at the bottom of the stairs. The pictures here show various stages of the lift in use on the stairs. When not in use it can then be folded - to allow others to use the stairs.

The rail is supported on legs situated every two or three stairs on the stair tread. It is battery powered so that in the event of a power cut, the stairlift will continue to work for several journeys - until the power returns.
