Sherborne town council had a problem with getting disabled actors up to the stage due to its height.

The steps were too narrow for a conventional incline platform lift.

The enjoyment of the shows would be interupted by the site of a verical platform in the front of the stage.

So the simple solution was to have the vertical platform transportable.
